In the lightness of a breeze-laden leaf resonates with the strong yet delicate singing of Flavia Wenceslau. A label-free artist willing to reinvent herself, the singer-songwriter launched in 2018 the guitar and voice show “My Music Has History.” As well as the intimate conversation with friends on the porch of the house, the show, directed by award-winning actor and director Jackson Costa, interweaves songs and stories of life and musical trajectory with good humor and spontaneity.
Flavia is a Brazilian artist of recognized talent, born in Paraíba and settled in Bahia for a decade. Owner of a remarkable tone and exquisite tuning, she brings in her luggage three albums (“Skirt Patchwork” – 2010, “Near Spring” – 2007 and “Now” – 2005), two Caymmi Awards (Best Female Performer, 2017, and Best Regional CD, 2007), some prominent partnerships and fans across the country.
A well-known composer in the voice of Maria Bethânia, who recorded the song “Silêncio”, on the DVD of the 50-year career show, Flavia Wenceslau has been standing out in the Brazilian popular music scene for her authentic work, marked by simplicity and poetic vigor. She also lends her compositions to the voice of Mariene de Castro, Father Fábio de Melo and signs music partnership with Chico César, Marcos Lessa and Margareth Menezes.
